Beeston Fields Golf Club

What we say

Steeped in history and tradition, Beeston Fields Golf Club lies four miles west of Nottingham, yet only 8 minutes from junction 25 of the M1. It is a well laid out parkland golf course, with many fine features.  Its trees and natural contours add to both the beauty and difficulty of the golf course.

The golf course lies on an estate bought in 1923 by Fredrick Mitchell, who appointed Tom Williamson to design a golf course. The golf course was officially opened in 1923 with an exhibition match involving Arthur Havers and Ted Ray. In the ensuing years other famous names to play the golf course include Henry Cotton, Robert Di Vicenzo, Fred Daley, Charlie Ward, Lee Westwood and Greg Owen.

  • 1.5 out of 5 Awful 'welcome' and turned away

    By andygreaves

Booked and paid for a tee time online, turned up to play and have never received a more frosty welcome. Was told that the booking wouldn't be honoured, I assume because I had received a reduced price online. Was told that there were plenty of tee times available, but at the full in-person price. So played at Wollaton for £10 less and with a friendly welcome too! Will never return and will advise others against visiting - stuffy, outdated members club, which doesn't offer the warm welcome promised on their website.

What a great course and club house, a must paly course. Visitors are made very welcome and the club house facilties are well above average with a nice patio area to sit at and watch play on the 18th. The course rewards accuracy and the greens are suberb, a tricky course to score well on, especially on your first visit, local knowledge needed or just need to play it 3-4 times. Although a little pricey I do tend to play 4-5 times a year, its worth it.
