Stourbridge Golf Club

What we say

It’s quite a compact course, uphill and down dale. It looks easier than it actually plays – very few visitors manage to play to their handicaps. The star hole is the long par-4 8th. You need to hit a good drive before hitting a long second into the green. A four here feels like getting a birdie.

The precise date that Stourbridge Golf Club was formed is not clear due to the loss of the earliest records. The first surviving minutes of a meeting held at the club refers to 1892. At this time it was a nine hole course built on the old Pedmore Racecourse. Whilst the total yardage is only 6,231 yards, it is a very good test of golf even for the professional golfer - stray off the fairways at your peril!
