Duxbury Jubilee Park Golf Club

What we say

Laid out over the grounds of the old Duxbury Hall, the Par 71 layout gently winds and rolls among the magnificent trees and waters that are a feature of this scenic parkland. It is a wonderful golfing experience, providing a stern test for every club in the bag.

A great blend of rises and falls, doglegs and straight-aways awaits you, and will allow your imagination to run riot.

However, don't be fooled into thinking that this golf course is for the experts only. Thanks to a high standard of maintenance and the clever use of large greens and often generous fairways, the less experienced players are still able to enjoy themselves. Duxbury Jubilee Park Golf Club really is a special place.

  • 5 out of 5 Best municiple in the northwest

    By GreenBaize

I started playing golf again in July 2015 after a 12 year layoff. I moved to the northwest in 2003 from the London area and had played many excellent courses there over 7 years. Looking for a good course in the northwest to start playing again was quite difficult. Requiring a course that I could play all year round, I played a few local courses around the Bolton area where I live and found them in quite poor condition. I Was then invited to play at Duxbury hall golf course. I have now become a member as the course is excellent for all levels. The course is very well maintained. I have played a few rounds after rain and the drainage is very good. I think Duxbury golf course is under estimated and could do with a good marketing program to get more events going. I would full recommend anyone living around Greater Manchester / Lancashire to play here. Price is from £13.50 to 19.50 a round pay and play. Membership for 7 day is £51 a month, (well worth it).

  • 4 out of 5 Mixed experience

    By Faldo

Played in a society today and my first experience of Duxbury Park. First impressions were good with a very nice clubhouse and friendly staff. We were delayed in teeing off by another group and this clearly infuriated the club captain who was behind us and chose to chastise us for turning up late, when we were on time but delayed by others - he like to point out that he was the club captain, possibly one for the psychologists out there! Unfortunately the green keepers were at work and temporary greens were being used on several holes by no information was provided regarding this. I enjoyed the course which was varied and challenging but the overall experience could have been better. Also, aren't club captains supposed to referees the the club in the best possible way? Short man syndrome possibly?

  • 3 out of 5 Cracking layout

Update from 29th Sept 08.  Clubhouse great.  Internet deals still good.  Layout still fantastic.  Still needs money spending on it though to improve the overall quality.  Played last night and had a 30' putt, for which I was thinking of using my 7 iron!  THE GREENS ARE SLOW AND BUMPY!  Dont let this put you off completely though as its still a great track to play.

  • 4 out of 5 A great municipal!!

    By Philip Dempsey

Played this course a few times this year and is one of the best municipal courses around, great value for money and some fantastic holes, especially the 12th. There are plent of testing holes too, one being the 10th Tee shot were you will need to hit a straight shot between the trees and over the pond 40 or so yards in front of the tee. Really enjoy playing the course and would recommend it to anyone, but would go when the weather is fine has it can get bogey in poor weather.

  • 3.5 out of 5 Chorleys hidden gem!

Duxbury is a fantastic layout. I recently took a private club member who loved the front 9 and was blown away by the back 9. The par 4 12th being the signature hole played uphill through a narrow avenue of trees, then over a valley which has a stream and two ponds within it, back up to a plateau green. The course isnt over long but can be tight and tricky, dont always grab for the driver! Only complaints are a lot of traffic including part-time golfers who dont repair their pitch marks. Also it can get a bit wet in the winter, or even wet summers. But there is a large drainage operation taking place. The brand new clubhouse is close to completion and looks excellent. Furthermore you can get some amazing price deals through Glendales website. Ive played it for £4 a few times this summer. In summary, on a summers evening when it isnt busy its hard to beat as a layout.
