Rudding Park Golf Club

What we say

The mature Hawtree course is the chief attraction at this classy Harrogate resort which hosted the Sky cycle team for the opening leg of this year’s Tour de France. The Hawtree has a great variety of holes, most being densely tree-lined as well as featuring a number of water features. You can warm-up by taking advantage of the venue’s outstanding practice facilities and magical six-hole Repton layout.

The setting: this splendid, undulating Parkland layout is within 200-year-old Repton Park and boasts a fine variety of holes, the short ones stealing the limelight. The Par-3 14th is the star hole. It’s tree-lined, well guarded by bunkers at the front, but falls away at the back.

Designed by Martin Hawtree to USGA specifications and the winner of several environmental awards, Rudding Park Golf Club's mature parkland golf course makes use of well-placed bunkers, lakes and the natural terrain. Trees are present on all fairways, and water comes into play on seven holes. Host to the annual PGA Super Sixties tournament the golf course provides a challenge for the beginner through to the most proficient golfer.  The 18-bay floodlit, covered driving range provides an excellent practice area and is manned by five PGA professionals.

  • 4 out of 5 A great layout

    By Chris

This course has matured over the years. and is now a picturesque venue. Have played twice this summer and in great condition both times. No boring holes-two memorable short par threes. Flat enough to walk if you don't want a buggy.Easy to get to from Leeds and Harrogate. Clubhouse patio overlooks. the 18th green. Good practice facilities at golf range with well stocked shop.

  • 5 out of 5 Great venue

    By Steven Caunce

Played the course with a group of 12 for my annual trophy. The Repton short course was great fun, great condition and a great way to warm up for the main course. The Main 18 hole Hawtree course was superb! It is long (lots of 400yd + holes) but was fair without being too punishing on wayward shots. All the holes are interesting with no "gimmick" hole that is usual on most courses, just "true" golf holes.Green conditions and the general course condition were excellent. The feedback from our group of 12 (handicaps 10 - 18) were all positive albeit some higher handicappers found the length a bit hard to cope with (perhaps because of a strong wind on the day)but still found it fair. Certainly a course for our "go to" list!!

  • 3 out of 5 Don't hire a buggy

    By Macmac

We hired a buggy for a recent round ended up having 2 buggies and neither could manage 9 holes. Asked for compensation was offered a buggy next time we play no use as we live 2hrs away and was only here on holiday. Also was quite disappointed with the greens very bobbly.

Our Society played Rudding Park in August, and i must say, what a day we had. As soon as we arrived, we felt so welcome, and the par 3 course which we played 1st, was a little gem. The 18 hole was course was tuff, as it was a very hot day, so the half way house, was a godsend. The food was spot on but the only downside was that, it says that weather permitting, it would be a BBQ. This did not happen which i  felt would have been the icing on the cake, but the meal we had was mouth watering. Overall, we had a fantastic day at a great venue, and hats off to Rudding Park

A quality all round golfing venue with a splendidly mature 18 hole parkland course being backed up by a tricky six holer, impressive practice facilities and a luxury on-site hotel and lodges. You'll have a ball...and you'll want to go back for more!
