  • 4 out of 5 Value for money!

Myself and two friends played the course today using a Groupon voucher and have to say i was amazed at how good the course was. The fairways and rough were immaculately cut and the tees and greens were in fantastic condition considering the time of year.  The glorious sunny weather made the course look even better too!  There were a few tricky holes and a number of blind tee shots which made the course a good challenge.  All the members we spoke to were very friendly and gave us excellent advice - we were made to feel very welcome.  This feeling was echoed in the clubhouse where we were greeted well both before and after our round and received a free bowl of delicous soup and a roll for lunch.  The only downside is the lack of pro-shop, but this did not affect us anyway.  The value for money at Alnwick is remarkable and a big thanks must go out to the greenkeeper for the maintenance of the course.  All in all a brilliant day!!

We played Alnwick GC on 23rd February 2012 as a four ball using Groupon Vouchers. One of our four ball had problems with his own buggy on the 3rd and was unable to move it. Daniel, the Course Manager and his staff were absolutely superb in dealing with the situation in not just getting the buggy back to his car and offering one of the Club's buggies as an alternative but also giving back the Groupon Voucher to be used for another time. The course was in great condition with superb greens and good winter tees. The day was only spoilt by a very very high and gusty wind. Great holes at 3 and 12. Back in the clubhouse, we were given, as part of the Groupon deal, home-made tomato soup and a role. I have to say it was one of the best soups I have ever had. We had a good chat with Daniel who told us about the ambitious plans that the Club had for the course and who offered to give us a good deal if we came back as a four ball. In summary....a great course with some challenging holes and a great customer service from Daniel and his team
