Great course, lots of challenges for all golfers. Water is placed so you should play safe but as all golfers if your greedy your get punished. Layout is good but some walking between holes so would suggest a buggy.

Returned here as my course was STILL closed.Yes its been windy and things have dried up but the course was great. Greens seemed to be freshly cut, most of main tees ere on and a great atmosphere in the clubhouse after our game. 40 miles to get here but I will be back.

For time of year the course was presented like summer. Buggies also has GPS which was a great help with all the water. will be back.

Longhirst has two courses. The Dawson course is a very nice course, testing for high and low handicappers alike with great variations in fairway width; a good share of fairways you can get out the 'big dog' and let it rip. It's the course i play the most out of the two. The Lakes course is like no other course i have seen, with water in play 2-3 on several holes it is great fun to play in large groups. The course is all about it's WOW factor and is definately one to try if you're every in the area. The only problem is that it suffers from people who are there for a laugh and don't know course etiquette.

The Dawson is awful. It was in really poor condition. Greens slow and bumpy.

Played the course on a wet thursday. There wasnt much of a welcome although the changing facilities were good but no seperate ladies locker room. Course was in good condition despite recent rain. Greens were good although I think people should be reminded about repairing pitch marks. Long walks between tee boxes and to be honest some of the ladies tees were so far ahead of the men's, I even offered to play off the yellows! Some of the holes are difficult but very playable. Although I enjoyed my round I was disappointed that the club house was shut when we finished! and all we wanted was a drink!
