  • 1.5 out of 5 Calverley Golf course

I second the previous review. The course layout and details on the website are irrelevant. Twice we nearly played the wrong fairway. There is a Mickey Mouse par 5 that goes 2oo yards then does a 90 degree right and its not clear it does this. There are no signs to next tees causing confusion and no hole map/daiagram on the tee markers. Also, its built on two levels with VERY steep climbs. Also we were driven into 3 times by memebrs with no shouts or apologies. Also despite staing our discount voucher included a golf cart there were none available when we turned up. Then after 13 holes two youths were driving around looking fo their friends in a buggty ! We played 16 holes and gave up on it ! I couldn't recommend it to anyone to play. We wasted a day and the cost of the voucher.

Played this course on Monday 20/04/09. I was really disappointed by it. Reasons being I was not sure exactly what course i was playing or where I was going. One side of the road has a eighteeen hole coures the other side a nine hole. We was told to play nine on one side and then back over the road to play the ther. The scorecard was completly wrong as a result of this. Nobody explained to us what was going on.  Luckily for the course and me after figuring out which was the first hole we found a couple of gents playing a neighbouring hole and they explained the rest of the way round. None of the holes are marked out re distance or hole youre playing. On one of the hles if you followed the fairway it went off to the left so out came the driver and a beauty straight down what I thought was the fairway. I was wrong it was straight a bit then a drastic dogleg right, my drive turned out to be a hole destryoing shot. As for the greens I am not complaing about all this lovelly weather we have been having but the speed and dryness was stupid. It was like hitting your shot onto your concrete drive they never stuck laying up to land a few feet off the green then hope to god the green held it 99% of the time no chance. It appears that nine of the eighteen have been taken out of play fo some reason they all looked in order to me. What is worng with putting temporary signs up saying the hole and distance and where the fairway is wrong having this explained to you before going out to play. On arrival at the clubhouse not a friendly welcome at all just give youre money and off you go. Was really loking forward to playing this course and so disappointed. Sorry will not be going back.
