Dartford Golf Club was founded in 1897 and the 110-year-old James Braid-designed golf course recently underwent a refurbishment programme carried out by Howard Swan and James Edwards of Swan Golf Designs.

Strictly Come Dancing judge Len Goodman says: "I used to live close to the course in Bexley and this is where it all started for me. It’s not a Wentworth or Sunningdale but it’s a proper golf club. It’s right on Dartford heath and is a tricky little customer on not a lot of land – the M2 nicked quite a bit about 50 years ago."
