Great value friendly and challenging course. Excellent greens and fairways are in great condition , you will be pleasantly surprised by the quality of this course and the range is one of the best you'll find with top quality balls and great deals.

I'd simple say that for the money, this is one of the best courses I've played in a long, long time! NOTE: A clubhouse has just been approved for construction!

  • 3.5 out of 5 Pleasant surprise

Have used the driving range (which is very good) a number of times but have only just tried the course. As the club house is little more that a porta-cabin I really didn't expect much. Glad to say that the majority of the course was a pleasant surprise. Lovely fairways (when I found them), changling greens and impecable tees. The design is interesting, there are a couple of severe dog legs which seem slightly un-necessary. The most surprising one was the 14th or 15th where you are forbidden by local rules to attempt to clear the corner and/or go for the green. The board suggests that this is to protect golfers on a subsequent tee however this does seem unlikely when you see the tee and you get the impression that the hole may have been a little too easy initially forcing this bizarre restriction. They have a refreshments buggy which is a welcome surprise after spending some time in the long rough. I have the impression that my rating will improve after a few more rounds there but if your local it's certainly worth a try.

  • 4 out of 5 Excellent, challenging course

This course is one of the hidden gems of golf. I believe it was built on land-fill, which accounts for both the excellent drainage and the lack of trees and how it is set up as a links course. All the holes are interesting and feature bunkers and very few of the holes on the 18 course are straightforward. Greens on the course are always immaculate. The only thing that stops it getting full marks across the board is the facilities. There is reasonably good catering, but the club houses is a portacabin and the changing facilities are basic. It has an excellent range, though and I understand that the Pro is a first class teacher.
