Okehampton Golf Club

What we say

You’ll discover this little cracker in the heart of delightful Devon, sheltered by the high tors of Dartmoor. Plotted on undulating ground, the course plays like a parkland although it actually sits on moorland. Several interesting holes will capture the imagination – not least the 12th at a mere 94 yards.

But it can be devilishly deceptive if the wind is blowing and you should be aware that the West Okement river awaits to the left and behind the green.

The next is tricky too. At 278 yards it’s driveable… but only if you’re dead straight. A grassy bank and trees guard the right side with the river on the left. Birdies are matched by bogeys here.

Okehampton golf course is a typical moorland golf course situated on the edge of Dartmoor in Devon. This lovely 18-hole golf course is not long at only 5273 yards for the men’s and 4817 yards for the ladies’ tees. However, this doesn't mean that it is an easy golf course.

The greens are well-maintained and can be very quick during the summer months, leaving even experienced putters struggling to get down in two on some holes.

The club offers various facilities including bar, food, pro shop, practice nets/green and a very friendly welcome to its guests.

Nice quiet course tucked away at the back of the town. Nice wide fairways lead to several treacherous greens that need a lot of reading. The holes in the valley need accurate drives but overall a forgiving course.
