The Kendleshire Golf Club

Last Updated:

What we say

Although relatively new, the classy Kendleshire Golf Club has already hosted several pro events and has been included in a list of the top 10 new golf courses in Britain in Golf World.

The quality of the golf course is matched by an equally impressive clubhouse offering a good selection of food and drink in friendly surroundings. Make sure you take plenty of balls though – 18 of the 27 holes have water in play, most significantly at the 11th which is a carbon copy of the famous 17th island hole at Sawgrass.

The Kendleshire Golf Club is a highly rated and extremely popular golfing venue for small groups and societies alike. Nowadays it offers 27 holes of top class golf with the latest loop of nine holes - designed by former Walker Cup captain Peter McEvoy - adding to the fun and games in July 2002, making the venue even bigger and better. The original 18 holes were first opened for play in 1997.

Stay & Play: There's a Travel Lodge about one mile away.

  • 4 out of 5 Plenty of Water

    By gslack

Great modern course which my partner and I very much enjoyed and a bargain on a County Card. Deep fringes around the greens means lots of maintenance for the green staff and accurate chipping for players. Huge greens are a compliment to your game meaning you might be GIR but still have miles to go! We played the 'old' 1 to 18. We had been initially offered 10 - 27 but having had negative comments from 4 people about the 'new' 9 we managed to change our tee booking to play the 'old' 18.

  • 4.5 out of 5 Classy Kendleshire!

The Kendleshire celebrated it's 10th birthday in 2007 and has now matured into a wonderful course. The original 18 are a great mix of holes and a real challenge, particulary on the inward 9. The greens are the real star at the Kendleshire and, even in December, were immaculate and true. The signature 11th hole is a copy of the famous island green at Sawgrass and is the centrepiece of a beautiful part of the course with water coming into play regularly. The new 9 across the road is also impressive as it matures. The club refreshingly relaxed, welcoming and friendly with a very well stocked club shop. Try the Kendleshire soon!!!

  • 4 out of 5 The Kendleshire - Bristol

    By Anonymous

Having played most courses in the Bristol area, The Kendleshire has it all. A fantastic layout providing exciting challenges that make even the low handicapper think twice about club selection. Greens like snooker tables in the summer require exact putting and with 27 holes to choose from, you will not get bored. All the facilities you could wish for from driving range, acamdemy course, GPS buggies and a chipping/putting area designed specifically with all kinds of lies, length of grass and stances. Friendly, welcoming staff who always make you feel comfortable with no stuffiness. Excellent shop with all the latest gear backed up by a great team of pro's always their to support and advise. Only negative point is that it is so popular and can get too busy at times especially in the summer. But what a great problem to have! Best course in the Bristol area by far.
