Gerrards Cross is set in parkland with large wooded areas, these and other features demand, and do, reward accurate iron play. Beech and oak trees characteristic of Buckinghamshire feature on many holes. 

The golf course has a single par 5 hole at the 7th, though the green is out of range in two for all but the mightiest hitters. There are four par 3s and they're all different in character -  the 5th,13th and 16th require full carry tee shots to take rough and bunkers out of play while the 8th is a little more forgiving.
