What we say

Botley Park gently carves its way through 176 acres of delightful Hampshire countryside, the golf course undergoing a 1995 redesign under the guidance of Sky TV commentator and former Tour star Ewan Murray.

The par 70 layout offers classic traditional parkland golf with superb tree-lined fairways with plenty of water thrown into the mix, specially at the 9th, 11th and 18th holes.

  • 3 out of 5 Nice course

    By abbenick

We have recently had our annual golf trip away and decided on this hotel and course for this year. It is a nice course with some very good holes to score on and some very tough holes. The fairways are wide enough and the rough forgiving enough to let you have a decent go off the tee but dont go too far into the rough or you may as well re load straight away. We were warned that the greens were not up to standard as work was being carried out but they were still good quality if a little slow. Best holes 11 a tough par 3 and 18. The hotel is nice, the food very good if a little sparse and we found the service was very good. Unfortunately there are a number of rumours that the course is to be sold off and a new housing development built which is a real shame. Well worth a visit for any society

  • 3.5 out of 5 A good course, that has challenges

Opening holes 1-4 are testing and varied. There are 2 par 3s on the front with hole 7 being quite tough as it's around 180 yards uphill. Back 9, Hole 11 is a nice par 3 over water. Holes 17/18 can ruin a round as one is a par 5 uphill and the other requires a measured tee-shot and then 2nd over water with a dog-leg. Best holes visually are 2,11 and 18. A good course that you can play all year-round. I will go back and play it.
