Braemar Golf Club

What we say

A popular destination for holiday makers and golf societies, Braemar Golf Club is a charming, short 4,935 yard course situated 1,200 feet above sea level.

The scenic 18-hole course features beautiful views of surrounding rolling hills and Grampian mountains, and can prove a tricky test for golfers of all levels despite not having any sand traps.

Par 3s on the course are long, with strong ball striking a must. The standout hole and potential card wrecker, the 409 yard par 4 10th, demands a big tee shot and a well-struck long second, usually into a headwind, posing a difficult challenge for golfers of all abilities.

At 1,200 feet above sea level, Braemar is the highest 18-hole golf course in Britain. A relatively short course at 4,935 yards with some fine greens, Braemar is accessible to golfers of all ability.

Over 100 years old, Braemar developed from a nine hole course into a full 18 holes and clubhouse. The club enjoys Royal Patronage and Prince Andrew, Duke of York currently holds the post.

He described the course as "a wonderful challenge set amid the magnificent scenery of Upper Deeside."

Due to heavy rain this summer the course was quite wet in places but don`t let that put you off. The scenery alone is worth the money, the views from some of the tees were outstanding. The greens were excellent and if you like to hit long this course gives you plenty of opportunity for that. It was very quiet the day we played - there was only one other person playing. The professional there was very pleasant and the whole experience was very good.
