Forfar Golf Club

What we say

A heavily wooded heathland course just 12 miles from famous Open venue Carnoustie. Forfar is steeped in history, originally being the handiwork of Old Tom Morris in 1871 with James Braid making alterations in 1926. Best holes are the par-4 12th, a 444-yarder, and 15th with the latter suitably named ‘Braid’s Best’.

Only 12 miles from Carnoustie, this heathland course was laid out by four time Open Champion Old Tom Morris in 1871. Although it is an inland course, the tight heathland fairways and a classic layout gives it a similar feel to a links course. With several difficult holes on the course, the 412-yard par-4 15th is suitably named 'Braid's Best' after the five time Open Champion. The course provides a tough test for golfers of all abilities.
