Dalmilling Golf Course

What we say

Dalmilling's open parkland course plays through a rolling valley and the river Ayr.

The river adds interest to the early holes where it creates danger in front of greens and along fairways.

"On paper" this is not a very interesting course but I always think it plays much more fun than it seems. There's a long first hole then you go through the hedge to the riverside area. It is all open parkland stuff so quite forgiving if (like me) your tee shots are not the most accurate! Of note is the short par 3 6tth which is surrounded by a burn. From the 9th onwards is back up the hill to the north of the course with another par 5 on the 13th. The biggest criticism of this course is that it does lack character on the back 9 but as I said it is much more fun when you get out there than you might think looking. Not one to go out your way for but if you are in Ayr and fancy a round I think you might be pleasantly surprised by Dalmilling.

After only starting golf a few weeks ago, I have played Dalmilling a few times, and each time the course hase played compleatly different, and it has been great. Goof features, challenges and greens.  Over all the course is a nice place to play a round of golf.
