  • 3.5 out of 5 Lots of variety

    By YerMaw

A good course with lots of variety in the holes giving a good challenge whilst still being rough friendly.  The greens are hard, undulating on some and play like a links course requiring canny approaches. You can tell it is a new course as there are areas not on the course that are still a bit shabby, but when it matures it should look fantastic as the oulook is very nice. There is scope for using some specimin trees and shrub planting to great effect as the course isn't short of space. The open nature also makes it a real challenge in wind. There is an excellent practice area and driving range (pricey) with bunkers and greens to aim at, though the latter needs some distance markers. The clubhouse is good, reasonably priced and the food is fantastic. The pro shop has all you'd need though the range of kit on offer is limited and the course needs a decent scorecard that has course info on it instead of a photocopy. The woman in reception can be a bit strange but she is enthusiastic and the club pro is hard to get hold of due to teaching commitments as the club is part of the college that teaches course management etc. Overall it is very good with lots of interest and I'm sure you'd enjoy it at the price which is worth it.

We played this course a nice summer evening. The course wasn´t fully ready to be played, but we were able to play the full 18 holes. I
