Kings Acre Golf Club

What we say

This impressive layout features the hallmarks of some great inland designs. Large undulating greens and tight fairways provide a stern test but good scoring is still very much a possibility.

The par-5 15th is one of the most interesting driving holes in the region with the tee being fully 100 yards above the fairway, which doglegs at a right angle to the green. Only the longest hitters can look to cut the corner over the out-of-bounds posts to leave a wedge to the green but even playing safe has its difficulties with a second shot flanked by OB and a river.

Kings Acre is a beautiful parkland golf course situated in lush countryside and was created by top Scottish designer Graham Webster, to provide a superb and rewarding challenge for golfers of all standards.

The par 70, 18-hole golf course makes fantastic use of the natural contours of the land; strategically places water hazards and over 50 bunkers, lead you to large undulating championship quality greens. The naturally sandy based soil ensures excellent playability all year round.

  • 4.5 out of 5 Thoroughly Enjoyable!

Went with ten others from our Sunday sweep so had a package with rolls and coffee on arrival with a 2 course meal after the golf plus a basket of balls to use at the excellent academy. The course was great with top quality greens and was a fair test but, as others have mentioned, there are a lot of infant trees which will make it very interesting in years to come. Lovely area outside to enjoy a well earned beer and the food was excellent. The only very slight downside was the locker area which didn't quite match the obvious quality of the rest of the club. Overall, a top place to visit.

First visit to Kings Acre and will certainly not be the last. Outstanding value at £25 per round. The Seve Trophy was played here in 2002,so that speaks for itsself. The course is a fair test, and will be even better test when the ,000's trees have grown. USGA spec greens, v good condition, despite some moss visible the ball rolled smoothly.Good facilites with an excellent golf acadamey. Highly recommend a visit.
