Lochwinnoch Golf Club

What we say

Sitting in the heart of the rolling Renfrewshire countryside, Lochwinnoch's beautifully maintained parkland golf course offers a challenge even to the experienced golfer.

The 18 hole golf course slowly climbs above the picturesque conservation village of Lochwinnoch, revealing some of its history in the textile industry in the process and offering stunning views over the surrounding areas.

The golf course itself will concentrate the golfer's mind, with its subtly deceiving undulations and characteristics.

Lochwinnoch is a nice village approximately 40 minutes drive from Glasgow. The club house is realy nice having been upgraded since the last time I visited with good locker rooms and a well stocked shop. The course starts off from the village and steadily plays up into the hills where you get lovely views of the East Ayrshire countryside. The tees, fairways and greens are pretty good and there are some very testing holes, downside is that it feels like you play 15 holes up into the hills with 3 downhills to bring you back to earth. I enjoyed playing the course and would highly recommend a visit but, as a smoker, could not play every week, but hey, the course did not get me addicted to the weed so it can't be blamed for me being knackered at the 18th. In summary, enjoyed the course, can't fault condition or challenge bur peronally, found it too exhausting to play week in, week out.
