Eyemouth Golf Club

What we say

This is the only seaside course in the Scottish borders, being laid out dramatically on the East Berwickshire cliff tops. It’s a lovely mix of links and parkland holes, while the signature is the par-3 6th beyond a deep North Sea gulley.

A coastal cracker with a lovely mix of links and parkland holes. But rest assured the hole you’ll be discussing in the 19th afterwards is the breathtaking par-3 6th which is dramatically played over a vast gully and the North Sea…hopefully! If it’s blowing a ‘hooley’ you might need your driver.

Spectacular Eyemouth is the only seaside golf course in the Scottish borders. Laid out on the East Berwickshire clifftops, the original golf course dates from the 19th century –  but a comprehensive makeover in 1997 has seen a new 18-holer emerge, complete with USGA-spec greens. One hole to make the cut was the extraordinary 6th, a stunning short hole across a deep North Sea gulley.

Probably biased as I am an overseas member here but it is a beautiful course with the UK's most spectacular hole. 11 golfing buddies from Italy thought so too after playing the 6th and also seeing whales just off the cliffs!

From the moment you step out of your car and walk to the elevated clubhouse you are met by stunning views of the course and the sea below you. The course is suitable for all levels of golf but do not underestimate its difficulty as there are many demanding but fun holes. The fairways and greens were in excellent condition and the facilities, food and hospitality were first class. All in all this an absolute gem of a venue and a must for your "courses to visit list"
