Five miles south west of Cardiff, Glamorganshire Golf Club is close to the cliffs at Penarth, provides stunning views across five counties and was the first inland golf course to be built in Wales.

Glamorganshire Golf Club is one of the oldest golf clubs in Wales, being founded in 1890 with a grant of land from Lord Windsor, the Earl of Plymouth.

It was at the Glamorganshire that the Stableford scoring system was first tried by its creator, Dr. Frank Stableford in September 1898. Also, when the Barbarian Rugby Football Club made Penarth their home in 1901 for their traditional Easter tour to Wales, the Glamorganshire was adopted as the place to spend the free Sunday.
