What we say
A mini golfing paradise a thumping drive away from the M4 and covering just over 6,000-yards in the Swansea Valley, providing glorious Black Mountains views. You’ll adore the three holes bordering the River Tawe and canal.
Mond Valley Golf Course is a wonderful tree-lined course with stunning views of the Black Mountains near Swansea.
Previously known as both INCO and Tawe Vale, the golf club is now managed by the experienced Clays Golf team, an award-winning golf management company.
Both the course and facilities at Mond Valley are excellent. The testing 18 hole layout is tight, so straight hitters are rewarded, and with small greens this presents a tough but fair test.
The three holes winding around the River Tawe and canal are very pretty. The course welcomes visitors and golfing societies throughout the year and a number of visitor packages, green fee offers and membership schemes are in operation.
There are only two par 5s (the 487 yards 2nd hole and 525 yard 16th) but the course is not to be taken lightly. Anything wayward off the tee is punished and usually requires a chip back on to the fairway unless you possess a Seve-like recovery game!
The club is easily accessible from the M4 and should certainly be included on your itinerary when in South Wales. It is the classic unknown beauty and certainly deserves more attention. The course is a flat, easy walking parkland bordered on one side by the meandering River Tawe and the historic Swansea Valley.
