Technology
A compact, portable launch monitor that runs off four AAA batteries. Just unfold and set 1.5m behind the ball and off you go. Measures swing speed, ball speed, smash factor and carry distance. Also has three modes: Practice, Target and Random, the latter selecting distances for you to hit.

Ease of use
Very easy to get going with this. Just pop in the batteries that are included in the back, turn it on and you’re ready to hit. I used the top of the box to get it at the same level as the range mat, which seemed to work fine. It comes with a key ring style remote control where you can access all the different functions, so it saves you having to bend it down and use the buttons on the device itself.

Features
The three modes really do offer something different and useful. The scoring tolerances on Target mode were quite generous. Set at 155 yards with an 8-iron, hitting the ball 149 yards, something I would consider an average shot at best, still scores 10/10. It would be useful if you could adjust the tolerances to make it harder or easier depending on your ability. Also, Random mode only gives you two-digit distances to hit to regardless of the club that is selected. This is great for wedge practice, but it would be better if the random distances were based more around the club being used. Knowing how many shots you hit in a session is useful, plus you can access all your stats at the end of your session with one button push.
