What we say...

Technology
Engineered for high performance, the 2014 Titleist NXT Tour ball features a new softer compression dual core and a softer, thin ‘Fusablend’ cover. It creates a softer, truer feel on all shots while maintaining distance and short game control on shots into and around the green, only exceeded by Pro V1 and Pro V1x. NXT Tour retains its spherically-tiled 302-dimple design that produces a piercing and stable ball flight for distance and trajectory control.

“We decided to make NXT Tour softer due to golfer feedback,” Michael Mahoney, director of Titleist golf ball product management, told TG. “Softer feel is a trend we’re seeing golfers prioritise, but we weren’t willing to compromise other areas of performance. So by taking some compression out, the spin on the longer shots comes down, counteracting any speed loss. We also softened the cover, which gives softer short game feel.”

Tested
As reviewed in our Balls Test 2014: Mid-softness feel and flight but got long driver carries. much more improved than last year’s model. Feels hot off the driver face and the numbers showed it was long. Struggled in the rough, but impressed from tight lies.
