What we say...
Ashworth may not be everyone’s first choice when it comes to waterproofs, but it is worth remembering that its sizing is based on fitting Americans. So if you struggle to fit into one of the younger fashion brands, Ashworth could be worth some serious consideration.
The casual styling looks as good away from the course as it does on it. We also like the way everything is elasticated, which ensures a snug fit around the cuffs.
Initially we weren’t sold on the jacket, although there’s no doubting it is comfortable to wear and looks smart. The bulkier cut and fabric wasn’t our favourite, as it took up extra space in the bag, weighed more and held water when wet. The trousers were made from a lighter fabric than the jacket, which could wear differently over time.
All in all, we reckon this is a decent attempt at making a waterproof suit by a brand that some may perceive as being more fashion orientated.Jacket: £80 Trousers: £80
