What we say...

The Silk Touch suit isProQuip’s latest product to hit the shops. So far the golf waterproofs have flown off the shelves, and it’s easy to see why.
The suit has a new quieter and lighter Silk Touch fabric to restrict the golf swing less, and to make golf in wet weather a more pleasurable experience.
We found thegolf  jacket extremely soft and comfortable to wear, and noticeably less restrictive than others. And the waterproof suit is available in virtually any combination you can think of.

From XXXL sizes to full-zipped jackets and variable leg length trousers, you’ll find them all in the Silk Touch range, along with some pretty nifty colours.
Where golf waterproofs were cumbersome, sweaty bits of kit 20 years ago, the Silk Touch raises the bar in golf waterproof fabrics a notch higher than its competitors, and we reckon other manufacturers will soon be launching similar fabrics.
It’s also worth noting that the ProQuip Silk Touch isn’t the highest priced waterproof suit on the market, yet Pro Quip is confident enough to give it a three-year waterproof guarantee, which is more than some of its lower-priced competitors and worth taking advantage of.

ProQuip's lightest, softest and quietest high-performance waterproof as used by the 2006 European Ryder Cup team.

Weight: 850g Pint test: No leakage, just a trace of a tide mark on the outer skin, meaning the fabric absorbed a tiny amount of moisture.
Lunchbox test: Jacket: yes Trousers: no Drying test: 2hrs 45mins

  • 5 out of 5 Excellent Waterproof and one that deserves the price tag.

Bought this Suit last September and really got the benefit one November day last year playing in a Pro-Am. After just 4 holes the weather got nasty and stayed that way till we got back to the clubhouse 14 holes later. Can honestly say this suit kept me dry and didn't cause me to sweat like some suits and end up wet that way either. Okay it didn't keep me warm being lightweight as it is but cold and dry over cold and wet I'll take any day. This suit is so good I've added the Half-Sleeve Windshield this year to my bag and got a Ryder-Cup suit for £150. Best thing I like with these suits is how small they fold up and can squeeze into my Titleist S70 bag and still leave room for my water, snacks and accesories.

  • 5 out of 5 IF ITS GOOD ENOUGH FOR THE RYDER CUP.........

I bought this suit after my local shop just started stocking this winter. I also read the TG reviews. At 1st sight and feel it is hard to believe it is a waterproof, and not just a Windtop. So light, So easy to swing too, no rustle when you turn. I opted for 1/4 zip tiop with my suit, which also allows you to zip off the sleeves too. This is the suit which Europe wore whilst THRASHING the USA in 2006 Ryder Cup, so if its good enough for them........ HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

I bought this on the strength of a couple of very good reviews and I wasn't disappointed. I can't believe something this waterproof can be so light, so quiet, and so easy to swing in. I used to hate wearing rain gear, but this is a joy and I actually wear it when it's not raining to keep me warm. It's nicely adjustable and although I have big shoulders and chest, the Large did not feel restrictive at all. Possibly not as funky as the Galvin Green collection, but is much more reasonably priced. A 3-year waterproof guarantee is excellent too.
