What we say...

2012 LONG TERM REVIEW

I’ve used the trolley at least twice a week since I’ve had it, and although there have been some huge plus points, there have also been a good few negatives. On the plus side, the Sport really is easy to fold and unfold, and the simplicity of the lithium battery connection is fantastic. The amount of functions and attention to detail is really impressive too, with the clock, distance control and speed control all helping to make the product what it is.

But, there has been an issue with the battery – it seems to run out of juice at the end of a normal 18 holes of golf, and I find it particularly suspect in cold weather. I have also noted that the start/stop button sometimes needs pressing two or three times to get the trolley to stop. Overall, I would recommend it to people though, especially when you consider how well the bag and trolley work together.

2011 REVIEW

Tester: Chris Newnham, HCP 12

Pros: This is a superb-looking trolley, and the white frame really adds a bit of class and style. The onepiece construction means it is out of the car and ready to go in a couple of minutes, and the lithium battery is great to use with no fiddly leads to connect. I also loved that it could be left in place when the trolley is folded. Another brilliant, and understated feature, is the digital clock – lots of golfers, like me, don’t wear a watch when we play so this was very useful.

Cons: Not much to report, but I did find the unit veered left when on the distance control. There was no obvious place either to fit a GPS unit and I did find it a bit on the heavy side in terms of getting it in and out of the car.

Conclusion: The Sport features head-turning looks and can also boast performance to match, with very little to dislike except for the weight. PowaKaddy’s exciting
range of bags provide an excellent choice for the golfer who wants to stand out on the golf course too. You don’t mind paying for products of this quality.

2010 REVIEW

What we like
: Simple and straightforward are two descriptions that spring to mind. But it’s not until you delve a bit deeper into its functions and settings that you really get a feel for the quality. As well as the dual rollers, golfers can also set the beast off to run 15, 30 or 45 yards away and we also like the presence of a battery life indicator as well as a clock. The Lithium battery, which weighs just 2.5kg, also helps to make it a very lightweight offering.

What we don’t like: Like the Motocaddy S3 Digital, the SPORT isn’t cheap. But that’s about it.

  • 1 out of 5 Your Local Pro's dont stock them for a reason....their rubbish !!!!

    By Anonymous

So far I’ve had the wheel fall off twice in the middle of rounds, the trolley pulled to the left, 'got serviced', pulled to the left again, 'got serviced', pulled to the right, screen failed, battery died and I've been waiting 4 weeks since.....got trolley back.....pulled left. And they still want to try and help 'fix the problem' , I just want a refund and by something else....all this in under 2years after forking out £400....treat yourself to something else instead !!! I'll be advising (as does three local pro's) buy something else, most Pro's don't stock Powakaddy for a Reason.....they're poor quality products and their service matches up as well !!!

  • 1 out of 5 great looks, poor quality

the powakaddy ticks the boxes for vanity, its lightweight and looks great, goes well with any bag. but the quality is just not justified by the price... my trolley is 3 years old, i'm now onto my second trolley and third battery.  in the time ive owned it, it has been back at powakaddy for over 7 months with warranty issues, leaving me over £200 in rental trolley costs (ehhh great value for money - NOT !!! )  The refuse to re-inburst me for these also and the best they could come up with was to extend my warranty period by 3 months. gee thanks powakaddy. Powakaddy has the worst customer services of any company ive ever met, they just blatently refuse to return your calls. If you want a new electric golf trolley, do yourself a favour and buy a different brand like 'Gokart'. i WOULD NOT recommend POWAKADDY to anyone !!!!
