Cobra BiO CELL

The Hybrids Test 2014: Cobra BiO CELL

Cost: £159

Tech: Weight has been moved from the face and crown low and back, delivering a low CG and high MOI for improved distance.

What we said… James Ridyard: “Found the flight to be a bit high and spinny. Having the onset is unusual and the leading edge is very curved. It feels light which actually reduced my swing speed; 60g is very light for a hybrid shaft.” Joel Tadman: “Quite a rounded shape, looks more like a mini 5-wood. It worked well from the rough but not quite as well off the deck.” Peter Ward: “I like the way it sits, when I caught it well it felt really solid. Draw setting helped reduce my miss right.” Ross Nichols: “I like the head shape and distance and dispersion was consistently tight.”

Pros: Easy to get the ball up. Adjustable loft.

Cons: Difficult to connect with on tight lies.
