The Hybrids Test 2014: Lynx Boom Boom 3
Cost: £185
Tech: Features a Bi-Titanium head with the latest Hot 1 Technology gas injection and Effective Energy Transfer (EET) technology.
What we said... James Ridyard: "The face is flat which reduces any gear effect that often helps amateurs. It also comes back beyond the hosel, which doesn’t suit my eye.” Joel Tadman: “Rounded leading edge would work well in thick rough. Good quality 80g shaft but let down by the head design.” Peter Ward: “I like the matt finish but struggled with misses to the left, forgiveness was limited and the feel was quite hard.” Ross Nichols: “Found it difficult to align with no crown markings or contrast between crown and face. The flight was high but dispersion wasn’t overly tight.”
Pros: Sends it out there. Classy finish.
Cons: Unusual head design. Unforgiving.
