MD Golf Superstrong STR10

The Hybrids Test 2014: MD Golf Superstrong STR10

Cost: £79.99

Tech: A hollow head combined with a tungsten weight screw improves ball speed, resulting in longer, more forgiving shots.

What we said… James Ridyard: “The shallow face and rectangular head shape means there’s a large hitting area. The flat sole sits well on tight lies but it might struggle through the rough.” Joel Tadman: “Simple plain look. Offset will suit game improvers. Feels nice in your hands but not overly powerful at impact.” Peter Ward: “It’s an odd shaped head, short from front to back. I like the shaft, it kicked through impact nicely. Felt nice when I caught it properly, solid strike.” Ross Nichols: “Matt finish works, frames the ball nicely. Long from heel-to-toe, quite easy to hit.”

Pros: Pleasing head shape and shaft spec.

Cons: Difficult to get through rough easily.
