The Hybrids Test 2014: Nike VRS Covert 2.0/Tour - BRONZE AWARD
Tech: Head size decreases as loft increases in the standard model. NexCOR Face boosts ball speeds. FlexLoft allows for independent face angle and loft adjustability in Tour head.
What we said... James Ridyard: “Seems to sit a little upright but opening the face counteracted this. Swing weight feels heavy (the 80g shaft contributes) making it a stronger players’ club. Lighter grey area frames the ball. Solid feeling club at impact like the driver.” Joel Tadman: “Feels hot off the face with a subtle sound. Easy to launch, doesn’t look as traditional in shape as the driver.” Peter Ward: “I don’t like the red. Took time to get used to it but the wrap grip felt really secure.” Ross Nichols: “Love the red, high, strong flight. Perfect size and shape.”
Pros: Solid, powerful feel.
Cons: Game improvers arguably need adjustability more.
