The Hybrids Test 2014: TaylorMade JetSpeed
Cost: £139
Tech: A redesigned, lighter Speed Pocket, filled with a polymer to keep debris out, boosts ball speeds off the clubface.
What we said… James Ridyard: “Light, soft feeling stiff shaft. Not as well balanced or stable as SLDR but the shape is similar, just with more offset. I don’t mind the graphics and it goes well out of the rough with decent forgiveness levels.” Joel Tadman: “Light weight is not suited to fast swingers that load the shaft. It felt solid through the hit with a stable flight. Forgiving and long too.” Peter Ward: Loved it. The contrast between face and head works and I got the most from the light head” Ross Nichols: “Certainly feels light. Went a long way out of the middle but found it difficult to control.”
Pros: Hot feel off the face. Popular look.
Cons: Light feel reduced control for some.
