What we say...

2013 Drivers Test

Our test team’s swing speeds were all best suited to the RIP Speed model and all were big fans of the look. James said the simple matt finish reminded him of a Ping driver while Chris also said it looked like a premium big dog. A lack of alignment aid on the crown was a minor negative for Kit, but Graeme admired the no-nonsense look and understated pear-shaped head. Joel not only liked the look and feel of the RIP Speed but was also surprised at the feeling at impact. Kit also noted how the shots out of the middle felt particularly solid.

Benross' new drivers will offer different launch characteristics and playability to suit a broader range of golfers.

The RIP version will work best with swing speeds of between 95 and 105mph, and the 10˚ of loft ensures a lower/mid-trajectory. The Hot Speed features Dual Crown technology which lowers the centre of gravity and raises forgiveness. It works best with 85-95mph of clubhead speed. While the Max Speed offers great playability and forgiveness, ideal for less than 85mph swing speeds.

Benross Drivers User Reviews

  • 5 out of 5 Don't be a brand snob, just try it!

    By Paul Williamson

I'm one who has gone through several drivers over the last few years. I'll admit to being suckered into buying the latest products from the big players in the market and ending up with something that didn't suit my game and which only looked good in my bag and not when it was being used in hand. Towards the back end of last year I decided that I would finally go to 'my local golf shop' and properly test out a few drivers and see what felt good and what didn't and let their computers tell me how the figures looked. Real credit to the professional who was serving me because when he handed me the Benross Hot Driver he said "don't be fooled by the name and the degree of loft, I promise you will not find many longer clubs in this shop", and he was right. It's definitely the best driver I've used and my previous drivers have included the latest from Callaway and Taylormade. I love the look of the club, the feel, the distance, the quality of the components and the forgiveness.........you'll also love the money you save over the big boys if you get one. The only disappointment is knowing now that they're just about to bring out the Speed 2 range, but saying that, I'm more than happy with this club and it really has helped to transform my game being a high-ish handicapper.
