Today’s Golfer Fairway Wood Test 2011

Tested: August 2011
Testing panel:
Stuart Priestley (Belfry Pro)
Michael Gow (HCP 7)
David Connor (HCP 10)
Alan Doodson (HCP 17)

Great feedback from three out of four testers with only Michael being disappointed. Stuart said it was the perfect size and shape, fast off the face and with a penetrating flight. David agreed it felt fast off the face while Alan loved the forgiveness. A top all-rounder according to our team.

Cobra's S3 range is new for 2011 and includes two new drivers, two new sets of irons and two fairway woods – the standard S3 and the S3 Max. Both feature Cobra’s E9 face technology which is designed to extend the sweet spot elliptically to cover hits high on the toe and low on the heel – where many amateurs make contact. The face is also
25 per cent larger than previous versions for more forgiveness. Despite that the head still looks extremely compact and inviting at address. The Max version also features offset to combat a slice.
