What we say...

Oct 2012 Fairways Test

Nike’s recent run of TG test podiums continues with the VR_S proving a hit with our team. David insisted this was a game improver club that even better players would like because of the pleasing shape and traditional looks.

He commented on the ease with which the ball flew off the face and Anthony agreed, insisting the club felt smooth and powerful. Anthony also said he’d feel confident attacking even the smallest greens with this because of the high flight, control and accuracy it provided. Mick liked the unfussy looks and performance but found other clubs provided more feel and feedback.

Pro says: “I like the mid-size head shape and the understated finish because it will suit a high percentage of players. The weight, stability and feel were all very good and I have to admit to being surprised at the level of performance from a club that is more likely aimed at a higher handicap player.”

The VR_S fairway wood complements the driver, and boasts lots of the same innovations. The NexCOR face technology promotes ball speed for greater distance but the fairway woods also feature L-Face technology, giving maximum distance from the most commonly hit lower area of the face. Expect a high ball flight and plenty of forgiveness while the look will offer plenty of confidence.

I recently bought this club from a local golf shop, the next day I went for a round and when I got back home I noticed the nike insert at the base of the club had come away but other than that its not a bad club.
