What we say...

Technology
Filled with technology to increase clubhead speed, including a hosel fin and raised centre on the crown to reduce aerodynamic drag. A larger, deeper Speed Pocket behind the face creates a larger sweetspot and reduces spin.

Looks
A slimmed down version of the driver, surprisingly. It sits a little closed at address (amplified by the black/white contrast), I had to lean the shaft forward to square the face. Subtle on top but eye-catching underneath.

Feel/Sound
A touch louder and higher pitched than R15 but equally as powerful.

Forgiveness
Arguably the club’s best-selling point. Feels nearly as hot from the heel and toe as it does the sweetspot, which only serves to boost your confidence, especially when playing from the turf.

Performance
The AeroBurner fairway strikes the balance of distance and versatility to a tee. It’s long yes; I got 1mph more club speed than my current fairway wood and three more yards. But the distance comes via a flight that is high enough to offer an element of stopping power into greens. I could probably get even more distance from the TP version, offering a slightly more penetrating flight. Dirt does tend to gather in the open slot and it’s a shame you can’t tweak the loft but regardless, I’m confident that most who try AeroBurner will experience an increase in distance that leads them to reconsider their bag’s top-end make up.
