What we say...

This excelled in everyone’s hands and pro James said it felt powerful and long – perfect for someone looking to add a few yards to their game. It was rated very highly by our testers both off the deck and as a driver replacement off the tee, although both David and Stuart said they would prefer a more penetrating flight.

David felt this was one of the most forgiving clubs on test, an opinion shared by pro James, while Roger couldn’t miss – posting a dispersion of just four yards. Aesthetically, only Stuart marked it down because of a marginally larger head and slightly triangular shape, while the other testers liked the sleek design.

Although this has been primarily designed as a game-improver club, it has been popular in the hands of TaylorMade’s Tour players and therefore it is no great surprise to see our testers rate it so highly. A top effort from TaylorMade.

TaylorMade's new Burner Superfast features SuperFast Technology which promotes more swing speed, more ball speed and more distance.

The super-light 30-gram Winn grip helps to optimise distance and is in fact 14g lighter than the grip on the Burner 08 model.

The Burner Superfast also features a bigger, more expansive clubface and it is also the largest ever steel-head the company has ever offered. This aids confidence and makes the club easier to hit.

The Matrix Ozik X-Con shaft is lightweight and the soft tip promotes a faster swing-speed, high launch angle and high spin for longer carry.

Lofts available: 15°, 18°, 21° Steel head, graphite shaft, ladies, gents, LH, RH.
