What we say...

Ben Hogan is an icon of the game. In addition to being a legendary ball-striker with nine major championships to his name (six after returning from a serious car accident), Hogan was known for his attention to detail and exceptionally high standards.

It is understandable, then, that managing the company Hogan started in 1953 to give amateur golfers the opportunity to play “as near perfect equipment as modern tools could make” is a huge responsibility.

Hogan would undoubtedly be just as passionate about the brand’s newest forged muscleback Icon irons. “In the hands of accomplished players, the Icon irons offer an unmatched combination of performance, feel and eye appeal when compared to any muscleback blade on the market,” says Hogan’s CEO Scott White. “This was Mr Hogan’s mission and we’re continuing that thinking and tradition today.”

The Icons are textbook Hogan – inviting to look at, with minimal hosel offset, thin toplines and shorter blade lengths – perfect for shotmakers. ‘Progressive Centre of Mass’ weighting means long- and mid-irons have extra help generating higher trajectories and more spin, while shorter irons provide a lower ball flight, to improve control and prevent ballooning.

There are no tricked up lofts, either, with the same four-degree loft gaps and shaft length graduation advocated by the man himself. “This leads to a perfectly balanced set with consistency and flow, which invokes the confidence better players rely on from their irons.” says White.
