What we say...

Rescue clubs are now very popular, so Cleveland has made a whole set! The new Cleveland HiBore irons may have brought a smirk to the face of our test pro, but even he admitted they performed pretty well after spanking shots straight down the range.

But it’s important to stress these are not a set for everyone. The massive, wide soles are not versatile enough for better players. In summer they are likely to bounce or skid off hard ground into the ball’s equator.

That said, the wide body construction allows weight to be located further from the face, making the design extremely forgiving. They also sound brilliant, and with the head being so big, the shaft feels very short – a real confidence booster.

All-new, forgiving irons. On sale from March 1.

  • 5 out of 5 The Ugliest Clubs EVER !!

    By pauldf

Yes they may look ugly BUT...these are the best to improve your game if like me you're a high handicapper. Been playing now for about a year in Spain, needed a set of clubs to give me confidence and launch the ball high, after trying g5s, x20s and r7s the hibore just produced straight high shots time and time again. Still the ugliest clubs ever but i wouldn't be without them, just finished 3rd in local 2 day event and 1st in local society comp, and handicap falling every few weeks. If you need consistancy and staright shots go and try these out, i promise you you will fall in love with them, and no i do not work for cleveland, although if they want to send me free stuff it'll be greatly received!

  • 4 out of 5 Say goodbye to long iron troubles!

I bought a Halo 2i about a year ago and wanted to have one for every loft in the bag, now I do. They're not much longer than my old irons, but I do not fat/thin half as much and the trajectory is great. The PW is a little thick, but that is probably the only downfall. Mid/High handicappers like me will love 'em!

These irons suit the type of player who prefers to sweep the ball away so if you are comfortable with fairway woods these would be worth a look. They are very nicely finishd but will take some getting used to at adress, a thick top line and the hybrid bulge is odd at first, although the 8, 9 and PW look more traditional. Ther are very forgiving but are higher trajectory than traditional os irons.
