What we say...

Tech:

Cobra have paid special attention to the benefits golfers need from each particular iron to help create the MAX set. A TechFlo system helps seamlessly blend half hollow longer irons (for increased forgiveness) with cavity back 8, 9, PW and a specialist wedge to maximise your scoring potential.

Our verdict:

We’ve blown the Cobra trumpet pretty hard throughout our testing process to highlight how they’re making some seriously hi-tech golf equipment. Unfortunately we reckon the bubbles gone flat with the MAX! To be fair Cobra’s engineers have cleverly disguised the game improving head shape by chamfering its edges to reduce the visual impact of the size of the top edge and toe area. But for us the MAX are much more a simple combo set than serious out and out game improvement iron. Sorry Cobra but all testers thought it was the Cobra iron we liked the least.

Bottom line:

Cobra are making some serious quality kit in 2016, sadly the MAX isn’t one we can heartily recommend. If you’re out to buy a combo set with all the irons and hybrids you need in one hit, they won’t do your game any harm. If not we reckon you should be looking at the excellent King F6’s instead.
