What we say...

MD Golf don’t pay players millions to use their kit, so you won’t see too many MD’s appearing on tour. But this is why their gear costs less.

Examine the Superstrong and you realise it’s made from the same components as most of the more expensive golf clubs on test. The shafts are Dynamic Gold and the grips are made by Golf Pride. As for performance, the Superstrong has a little more weight around the club’s perimeter than most and was among the more forgiving on test.

They are CNC milled, which creates a consistently thin face, which seemed to sling shots off the club like a modern driver. The set progresses nicely from long to short irons, but if we had a gripe it was the shiny finish which glares in bright sun.

If you’re fed up with lining the pros’ pockets or can’t justify the cost of the big brands, these are a brilliant alternative.

    By Archie Stanton

Re-aquired the game of golf last year, after a 15 year break, after some coaching from a friend who plays off 8, my scores came tumbling down to mid 80's and i was told by members of my local club that it was time to improve on my "starter set". I had previously bought a pair of fairway woods by MD Golf, following their good review in TG, so decided to take the plunge with these via SPSupplies (not an advert, just a very impressed customer) on tinternet. There may not be a lot of them around out there, but these are proper quality clubs at a very appealing price, I paid £185 for mine, and feel like I have robbed them, especially when I nail the sweet-to-hit 5 iron, hell last week at Matfen, I sent a 3 iron 200 yards out of rough to putting fringe, and I could never hit a 3 iron to save my life. If you are in the market for a set of imho quality clubs, then you cant go wrong with these.
