What we say...

The Mizuno MP-52 irons is the most forgiving MP iron ever. The 52s combine the feel of a blade with the ease of use of cavity-backs. The key to this is the new Dual Muscle design that conceals a gull-wing shaped pocket cavity for more stability and forgiveness while keeping the clean profile of the MP line.

The extra 14g of weight from the cavity has also been moved lower and deeper for even more playability while a slightly wider sole reduces turf drag.

2009 Review

A cracking looking iron that performs well. It’s not lairy in design so perfect for those seeking a clean classic looking bat. It’s got a chunkier sole than the MP-62 with the CG deeper than in any other MP iron. Our guys loved it and it well deserved its high ranking.

The Mizuno MP-52 Iron integrates a discreet pocket cavity for an uncompromising balance of shot making and forgiveness.

Twin crescents milled into the MP-52 deepen its centre of gravity - increasing stability from off centre hits, while remaining hidden at address.

A central impact bar and dual muscle technology ensure that feel and feedback are tuned to meet professional expectations, but with forgiveness built in.

The dual camber sole reduces turf drag from increased sole width while the clubhead is grain flow forged from 1025E Pure Select mild carbon steel for solid feel and distance control.

The tour profiled Mizuno MP-52 irons integrates a discreet pocket cavity for an uncompromising balance of shot-making and forgiveness.

Finally settled on these irons after quite a long time reseaching. I had drawn the field down to these, Ping (G10, I10) and Titleist (Ap1, Ap2). Personally I do not like the really chunky irons such as Ping G10 and didn't get on with the I10 so where quickly knocked out.  The Titleist were next to go only because of the fitting. Went to a major store but they only had nets (I hate nets!). Went to my local pro shop and was able to try the wide variety of clubs. Mizuno's swing DNA system quickly identified the correct shaft for me saving lots of time (preserving energy). I found these were the most forgiving, great to control when I am hitting well but not costing too much when I didn't get hold of it.  Nice looking club  as the two half moon cavitiy is not visible at address. The topline line isn't too big. Was tempted to go for the 58's but was tired when I tried them. Overall very happy with these nice looking clubs.
