What we say...

Hollow body long irons are teamed with pocket cavity mid and cavity back short irons to incorporate the best of both worlds into a single set of irons. A Flybeam construction stiffens the body to deliver fast and consistent ball speeds from a wider area while Nike’s RZN material lowers and deepens the CG location for higher and longer ball flights, whilst maintaining workability.

Our verdict:

Such a hi-tech set construction shows the lengths Nike’s engineers are going to, to put the right style of club in golfers hands to maximise potential on each shot encountered on the golf course. They’ve cleverly teamed a mid-size head with not much offset to give the looks of a better player iron but the playability of a game improvement model. Two of the testers really warmed to the Pro, liking the looks, feel and playability and both said they’d happily game the set themselves. With a loft of 32 deg the Pro are a couple of degrees weaker than the strongest on test so its unfair to compare them directly on carry distance but they were bang on the average carry distance and ball speeds for all the game improvement irons tested.

Bottom line:

A very good looking and solid performing iron from Nike. Thanks to their excellent combination of construction style, shape and size we reckon they’re suited to a pretty wide audience of golfers.
