What we say...

If you’re an avid TG reader you” probably have picked up that, for the majority of tests, the big boys come out ontop.

It’s not because we are biased or brand-led, far from it in fact, we pride ourselves on being thoroughly objective in our tests. No, it is simply because on the day of testing they usually produce the goods more impressively than the rest on test. And given their greater resources, that’s hardly suprising.

Sometimes though, a challenger emerges from the pack and that’s what happened here. Because while this category of the irons test has been extremely tight, the Orka PS9 MB irons just edged it.

This muscle back cavity design iron features CNC precision cut grooves and the thin top line will certainly appeal to the better players out there. So what sets it aside from the other nine class acts in this elite field? Well, loos wise it was up there with the Cobra MB and the Snake Eyes 675B and was second only to the Callaway X-Prototype in the feel stakes.

It was certainly one of the more forgiving irons in this section, with Jon noting that even the 4-iron was easy to hit. Impressive dispersion stats and solid distance elevated this to the ‘Best on Test’ award. Throw in Orka’s multitude of fitting and custimisation options and you’ve got a serious set.

We realise it’s not the best known name on the market, and that may put some of you off, but if you fancy a change from the more established names in the market then Orka is a very good place to start.
