What we say...

Ping have been making great golf irons longer than Sir Alex Ferguson has been in charge at Old Trafford – and that’s a long time! The quality of the irons just gets better and better and the brilliant G15s are no exception. Considering they have replaced the magnificent G10s this is no mean feat from the Ping engineers. The first thing to say is just how forgiving
these clubs are – 7g of weight has been redistributed to the perimeter of the club to ensure better ball-striking on off-entre hits, while the thinner face (than the previous G10) means you get more distance on your shots. Looks-wise, you will either love or hate the chunky look of these irons. It would seem these would suit high handicappers, but our triumvirate of testers approved of the looks and said the big head was confidence-inspiring for people the clubs were aimed at. Colin wasn’t initially turned on by the club’s brush metal head, but a solid performance turned his. Craig thought he wasn’t swinging particularly well with them, but still found his shots with the 6-iron were flying straight and with decent distance. He also noted how nice the ball felt off the face, while Alex also enjoyed the sensation of the clubhead. He really rated the looks and awarded it full marks – had the testers achieved a slightly tighter dispersion, the G15s might well have run the CG7s close for the Best on Test award. But these are serious clubs for golfers who are hell-bent on getting better and are yet another example of how Ping are continuing to get it right in the irons market.

Brought these new two years ago. Only play recreational golf and had a high handicapp. These Irons are forgiving and give greater accurately than any iron I have used in the past. I have broke into the 80's which I could never do before. They look and feel good and give you confidence to hit your shots. If you feel you have great irons then you can hit great shots which these do for me. No doubt these irons have helped me get a lower handicapp and enjoy the game more than I've done before. I reccommend these irons to the higher handicapp player who want to get better. Great irons for a reasonable price from a great company Ping.
