What we say...

When we quizzed Ping’s owner John Solheim over whether his company would ever make a forged iron, he said; “Through years of casting experience Ping have fine tuned their cast iron heads to perform and sound like a forging. Why would we want to make a forging?”

With that in mind it was great to hear our pro remark how he felt the golf clubs weren’t any harder than a forging. The dull finish might not inspire, but get them out on the golf course and we reckon they’re a different story.

The narrow soles are perfect for nipping off tight lies and really encourage you hit the ball then turf, which most better player’s swings warrant. The penetrating ball flight is ideal and while the dull finish won’t light everybody’s fire it wears well with age. Which means your set won’t look worn out after a season or two of hard practice!

Ping Irons User Reviews

Excellent iron for the better player. Small but forgiving head ensures that you swing and strike the ball correctly. Nice consistent ball flight to the target with plenty of control. I knocked four shots of my handicap with these irons this year. They should get me to single figures very soon. Mal - Oxford
