What we say...
Bettinardi's Inovai Rev 5.0 putter made it in to our top 10 MOI putters of 2018 in our biggest ever equipment test - Top Gear. Find out what our testers made of it below.
Bettinardi Inovai Rev 5.0 Putter Review: You should know
Bettinardi describes the Inovai as the perfect MOI putter. A lightweight aluminium face is fused with a heavier stainless steel sole to deliver extreme perimeter weighting, which Bettinardi says promotes a stable stroke and larger sweet spot. A two-tone black and silver finish helps highlight alignment. F.I.T face milling removes 55% of the face material, so you get Bettinardi’s softest putter feel, which Bettinardi reckons suits golfers with aggressive putting stroke.
Bettinardi Inovai Rev 5.0 Putter Review: We say
We’re not quite sure why but boutique putter manufacturers are usually much more well known for their sleek, slender blade and mallet designs than for brilliant MOI models. But if stable MOI designs are your bag, we reckon Inovai’s a sound choice. The aluminium face and groove pattern which means the ball only ever hits 45% of the face means a brilliant soft feel, without the need for a face insert. The heavy steel sole and back section stealthily raise MOI performance, which we thought helped the Inovai swing really smoothly even on less than perfect strokes.
Bettinardi Inovai Rev 5.0 Putter Review: Verdict
100% CNC Milled putters never come cheap. It must be hard for their makers to watch cast putters (like the TaylorMade Spider Tour and Odyssey #7S) gain such popularity on tour and get closer and closer to a CNC Milled putters price point. You won’t find lots of CNC Milled MOI putters on the market, so if it’s precision milling that floats your boat you’ll struggle to find better than the Inovai. Oh and it’s brilliant for picking up golf balls.
