What we say...
Cure's Tour X3 putter made it in to our top 10 MOI putters of 2018 in our biggest ever equipment test - Top Gear. Find out what our testers made of it below.
Cure Tour X3 Putter Review: You should know
All Cure putters are CNC Milled in the USA, and super high MOI is their unique selling point. The Tour X series has a slightly smaller head (than other Cure models) with a sleeker profile, but MOI that blows most leading MOI mallets out of the water. There’s 60g of weight adjustability so expect stability, unmatched forgiveness on mishits, which ultimately translates to better distance and directional consistency.
Cure Tour X3 Putter Review: We say
We’ve heard golf club designers say time and again how even the worlds best golfers want forgiveness. The issue is most don’t want to give anything up in terms of looks to get it. So if like Cure you chase huge MOI performance at all costs you end up with head shapes, some of which barely resemble putters in some golfers eyes.
For us the Tour X3 is the pick of Cure’s bunch, even though it’s designers say it’s slimmed down it’s still very oversized. We reckon the Tour is incredibly stable throughout any putting stroke, and even though the long face won’t be to all golfers liking, if your putting stroke is wonkier than a three-legged donkey it can’t but help iron out the kinks.
Cure Tour X3 Putter Review: Verdict
We couldn’t run a MOI putter test and leave out the highest MOI performance models on the market. It’s just the trade-offs made to be so forgiving will be seen by some as unpalatable. If like Cure you want to chase MOI performance at all costs, fill your boots, you won’t find higher performance MOI models anywhere else.
