What we say...

2011 Review

Rarely has a product performed so well in a test as the stunning MP-T101 putter from Mizuno. In fact, the club scored an average of 4.72 out of five – a ridiculously impressive score indicating a stunning performance in the hands of each member of our test team. In terms of technology, the T101 has been made from a mild carbon steel billet, before Mizuno engineers apply the grain flow forging process which gives the putter its final shape.

A final milling process helps give the putter the properties that ensure a consistent roll too, and this was certainly not lost on Alex who labelled it a brilliant putter. He also thought it was one of the easiest to use putters in the blade category and was also impressed with the sensational feel that comes about because of Mizuno’s CNC milling process. Chris thought it was a great product, very simple to align and easy to use, while it ticked all the boxes for George. He also commented on the pure sound that the T101 produced.

Mizuno may not be the biggest name in the putter category, but it appears that is about to change following their performance throughout the test. The MP-T101 offers sensational feel, excellent aesthetics and brilliant results. Bravo Mizuno!

Mizuno’s new putters share their name with the irons and woods and have been designed to generate a soft feel and pure roll. They start as a single 1024E Pure Select mild carbon steel billet before the Grain Flow Forging process is used to form the final shape. A CNC Milling process means the face thickness is reduced to 3.5mm for a pure and responsive feel, while another milling process helps to provide a more consistent roll. There are three compact designs, all with a glare-reducing soft satin chrome.
