Odyssey’s easy-to-align 2-ball has been one of the biggest-selling putters of all time – but we think the Odyssey Marxman knocks spots off it.

The mallet head is virtually the same size as the 2-ball’s, but the ring weighting makes the golf club feel much more stable. We also found the straight edges of the sight lines easier to align than the rounded edges of the 2-ball.

Many thought it was impossible for Odyssey to improve on the 2-ball, but the straighter sight line on the Marxman is a valuable update for those who never quite got their head around the 2-balls curved edges.

    Fantastic feel and balance - I always doubted the benefit of buying a more expensive putter but am amazed at the feel and roll achieved with this putter - forget spending a fortune on a driver buy this putter!!
